Free photo geolocation — find where any photo was taken

Geolocate Photo is a free online tool that finds where a photo was taken. Upload any image and our AI predicts the most likely location, plots it on a map, and shows the coordinates with a confidence estimate — no account, no software, no cost.

How it works

  1. Upload or drag a photo (JPG or PNG, up to 5 MB).
  2. Complete the quick human check.
  3. Get the estimated place, coordinates and a confidence score on an interactive map — free.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?

Yes. You can geolocate a photo for free with one search per day, no sign-up required.

How do you find where a photo was taken?

The tool analyses visual features of the image with an AI model trained to recognise places worldwide, then returns the most probable location. It does not rely on EXIF GPS data, so it works even when the photo has no metadata.

How accurate is the location?

Results are approximate and best treated as a strong hint rather than an exact address. A confidence score is shown with every result.

Do you keep my photos?

Photos are only used to run the geolocation and are not shown publicly.
